Jeans: The Staple Your Kid’s Wardrobe Needs!

Jeans. Is there any bigger staple for a kid’s wardrobe? First manufactured in Genoa, Italy and dyed in the indigo plantations of India, this garment has had quite an evolutionary journey. Now, jeans are made in most apparel producing countries throughout the world.

They finally made their way to the United States arriving in San Francisco in 1853. Levi Strauss, one of the most recognizable names for this style,  was who helped bring them to the states. But, it was pop culture, primarily movies and music that turned them into the fashion lynchpin they are today. We want to honour the last six decades of jeans styles with well-known brands and a few that might be flying under your radar.

Over $15 Billion of jeans are bought in the US each year. And these brands 5 have put their own touch on this staple.

Lemon Beret have a ton of great jeans options in their collection for boys and girls, but we chose one of our favourites. This distressed style in black matches almost anything and can be dressed up or down. As far as staples go, we thought this was a great place to start. Although not available for sale yet in the US, give them a test run in Everlasting Wardrobe’s rental membership.

Kickee Pants has intertwined the stretchy bamboo fabric they are known for with plush cotton. What’s left is probably the most comfortable and soft jeans that are still durable. And a draw-cord stretch waist? No buttons or zippers to fight with!

What might seem like mild-mannered jeans from Toobydoo are hiding a secret for cold temps…. Flannel Lining!! These pants provide extra warmth, and the lining is super soft. It’s like having built-in long johns for those winter months.

These stretch denim jeans from Souris Mini are anything but boring. With all the fun details and embellishments, your child can show their creative personality.

Jeans aren’t just for pants anymore. Indi Kids had so much success with their Isaac Pant that they brought them back as shorts. All of their organic yarns are naturally dyed. The natural wooden button and elastic waistband add comfort to this unique style

There are so many pairs to try! Make sure to try on a few styles before you decide which brand is right for your little style icon.
